Over the course of today and tomorrow, the city of Malaga is hosting a meeting of the EUniverCities network, which aims to share and disseminate knowledge and experience in the sphere of city-university cooperation in Europe. This European network holds two meetings a year, and Malaga was chosen to host one of these meetings in 2019. The initiative, which came about as part of a European project, aims to form a network of universities and cities to work on joint collaborative projects.
The meeting, which will take place in the Costa del Sol’s capital on the 20th
of November, is about smart and sustainable tourism. This field is a priority for the city of Malaga, which has recently been designated European Capital of Smart Tourism 2020.
The City Council, through Promálaga and the Investor’s Office, is part of this network, along with the University of Malaga. Malaga was the first Spanish city to join the network.
