DELE Diplomas of Spanish
The Cervantes Institute awards the DELE Diplomas of Spanish on behalf of the Spanish
Ministry of Education. These are official diplomas which certify the level of mastery and proficiency in the Spanish language.
The DELE Diplomas of Spanish certify language proficiency at six levels, designated according to the terminology used in the
Common European Framework of Reference for Languages: Teaching, Learning and Assessment (CEFR): A1, A2, B1, B2, C1 and C2.

SIELE
SIELE is the International Service for Spanish Language Assessment, which electronically certifies the level of Spanish language proficiency. It is intended for
students and professionals anywhere in the world.
The certification is promoted by the
Cervantes Institute, National Autonomous University of Mexico, University of Salamanca and
University of Buenos Aires, thus guaranteeing quality standards and good practices in the preparation of the tests, as well as the use of different linguistic varieties from around the Spanish-speaking world.
SIELE certifies the degree of competence in the Spanish language. And like the DELE, it takes as a reference the levels established in the
Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR) by the Council of Europe.
