The shops in Malaga open between 9:00 and 10:00; they close for lunch at 13:00 or 14:00, and open in the afternoon at 16:00 or 17:00 until 20:00 or 21:30. Large shopping centres and department stores, however, do not generally close at lunchtime. Some shops and all the shopping centres and department stores open on Saturday afternoon, whilst all shops are closed on Sundays, except for certain special periods throughout the year when the shops have permission to open.

In Malaga, as in the rest of Spain, meals are usually eaten later than in some other European countries. Breakfast is normally between 9:00 and 11:00.
Lunch is usually eaten between 14:00 and 15:00 and dinner, between 21:00 and 22:00. However, mealtimes in restaurants are adjusted to the working day and the lifestyle of our visitors, and therefore one can lunch from 13:00 until about 15:00, whilst dinner is usually served from 21:00 until about 23:30.
Every day most of the cinemas offer showings from 12:00 onwards until about 00:30.
Theatres and shows usually begin at between 20:00 and 21:00, apart from morning shows, normally on holidays and Sundays, for the little ones.
Bars where music is played (called “Pubs” in Spanish) and Piano Bars generally open from 21:00 until around 03:00 in the morning, and the discotheques usually open at 23:30 and close at about 04:30 in the morning.
